Curing Cancer With Carrot Juice: Recipe & How Much To Drink Daily For Treatment & Prevention

There are many ways of combating and preventing cancer, including natural means. The use of carrot juice for this purpose is a remedy that is known by some select few. However, we hope to change that with this article.

Carrots need no introduction; however, just for the sake of clarity or humor – so that we are on the same page, do you know the orange-colored plants/roots with leafy-green tops that are cherished by rabbits? They are carrots, and that is what we are referring to in this article.

In recent years, it has been reported – albeit the veracity of most reports has not been confirmed – that various persons who were previously diagnosed with one type of cancer or another were cured of their tumors. These patients were reported to have bounced back from their ailment without exposure to chemotherapy, but by simply introducing a cancer-fighting food into their daily diets. One of such reports was in 2013 about Ann Cameron who got cured of lungs cancer after consistently drinking an average 5 pounds of carrot juice every day for more than twelve months.

Like the story above, there are other similar ones; however, the point remains that the consumption of raw carrots, or carrot juice, or eating after the plant has been cooked has been proved to be a healthy and natural method of providing the body with essential nutrients as well as in the prevention of certain diseases.

The major reason why carrot juice can be used as an anti-carcinogenic agent is due to the fact that the carrot plant is packed with antioxidants, which gives the plant its cancer-fighting capabilities.

Carrots Nutritional Benefits & Facts

Scientifically referred to as “Daucus carota sativa,” carrots are perennial edible roots that are indigenous to tropical countries. Carrots are rich sources of carotenes including vitamins, alpha, and beta-carotene as well as important antioxidants as previously stated. The alpha-carotene has been found to be helpful in the treatment of cancer as well as in its prevention.  Due to the presence of these carotenes, carrots are rich sources of vitamin A – the beta-carotene is required for the formation of vitamin A – which makes them highly recommended for people with visual problems.

The plant is also a good source of vitamins C, D, E, K, and B vitamins in addition to minerals such as calcium, molybdenum, phosphorus, iron, and manganese.

It has been known that the daily consumption of carrot juice can help overweight and obese persons in shedding off the extra weight due to its cholesterol-reducing properties. Other benefits of this highly nutritious drink include its use for skin rejuvenation and beautification, in the treatment of digestive problems like constipation, for boosting the immune system, and so on.

In contrary to chemotherapy, the use of carrot juice for the treatment of cancer does not come with the risk of damaging the body. Chemotherapy patients are known to lose their hair due to the frequent exposure to radiation.

Even though there are limited studies to ascertain the effectiveness of carrot juice as a means of treating cancer, it still remains one of the most potent methods.

Cancer Fighting Potential Of Carrots

Various studies or research have been conducted on animals as well as humans to prove the cancer-fighting potential of carrots.

  • Prostate cancer

A study carried out by Harvard’s Department of Nutrition showed that men who included foods rich in beta-carotene were at a lower risk of getting prostate cancer than those who did not.

  • Colon cancer

The beta-carotene content of carrots makes them beneficial for the prevention of colon cancer. In addition, the polyacetylenes in the carrots help in suppressing the growth of cancer cells in the colon.

  • Blood cancer

A recent study found that carrot juice is powerful enough to kill cancer cells in a part of the body as well as to prevent their spread to other parts of the body. This includes preventing the growth of cancer cells that are associated with leukemia.

  • Lung cancer

There is existing research that shows that smokers who eat carrots or at least include the plant in their daily diet for a minimum of once per week can lower their risk of getting lung cancer than those who do not.

  • Breast cancer

Women with the risk of breast cancer can also benefit from drinking carrot juice. This is because of the fact that carrots are rich in carotenoids which help in protecting the body from breast cancer.

How to prepare carrot juice for cancer Treatment

Preparing carrot juice is not a difficult task; you can start and finish the entire process for as little as 20 to 30 minutes. That being said, there are various methods of making the juice; nonetheless, whichever method you employ should give you the same or almost the same level of nourishment.

What you need

  • Four or more carrots (preferably fresh or organic)
  • A blending machine or juicer

To make carrot juice for the purpose of cancer prevention or treatment you will need to follow the steps below:

Method 1: Using a blending machine

  1. Take off the leafy tops of the carrots.
  2. Wash the carrots using water (Use a vegetable wash solution if the carrots are not organic).
  • Cut the carrots into small chunks.
  1. Place the carrots in the blending machine and blend for juice.
  2. Occasionally pour some little amounts of water into the blender to make a puree.
  3. When you are done blending, mix the carrot puree with a cup of boiled water and stir.
  • Using a hand strainer, filter the juice
  • Finally, allow the carrot juice to steep/cool for some time and serve.

Method 2: Using a juicer

  1. Follow steps I through III in the previous method.
  2. Place the washed and chopped carrots into the juicer.
  • Use a clean glass or cup to collect the carrot juice from the outlet of the juicer.

Drink the fresh carrot juice.

You need to drink at least three glasses of the carrot juice every day.

When to consume the carrot juice

It is recommended that you consume the carrot juice immediately (not more than 20 minutes)after preparation. This is due to the fact that leaving the juice exposed after juicing will make it start losing its potency due to oxidization. If you prefer to consume the carrot juice later or for some reason cannot be able to take it immediately after preparation, then it is advised that you hermetically cover the juice and put in the refrigerator.

You can add other fruits with the carrot to make a nourishing fruit juice blend. Fruits that can be added to carrot include apples, bananas, and other fruits that have cancer-fighting capabilities.

How to take Carrot juice for cancer prevention & Treatment

For the prevention of cancer, it is recommended that you use only raw carrots in preparing the juice, but then, there is no harm in throwing in other fruits and vegetables like garlic, celery, apples, onion, etc, which are also beneficial in the prevention of the multifarious disease. Consuming three cups daily helps to inhibit the growth of tumors in cancer patients while drinking more than three cups assist in reducing the size of the tumors.

For the purpose of cancer treatment, you can bring some kale, parsley, spinach, broccoli, etc, to make a carrot juice cocktail which is also healthy and great in fighting cancer.  Drink a minimum of five cups daily if you want to get rid of the tumors. You’ll have to do this for months in order to reap the benefits. Like in the story of Ann which was shared in the introduction, you may not see any improvements until after several months or even years. CONSISTENCY IS KEY.

You should ensure that you go for CT (Computed Tomography) scans to ascertain the improvement – how the tumors are shrinking or disappearing –in order to choose whether to continue with the treatment or not.

Risks and adverse side effects of consuming carrot juice

Like we’ll always say, everything should be done in moderation. The consumption of carrot juice offers innumerable health benefits when taken appropriately.  For one, it is highly advised that carrot juice should not be the primary meal in your diet. This is because of the fact that carrots do not have enough dietary fiber; thus, over consumption can lead to constipation or other digestive system problems.

Also, it has been found that excess consumption of carrot juice can lead to jaundice due to the high concentration of beta-carotene in carrots.

Carrots are rich sources of vitamin A; hence, there is a risk of vitamin A intoxication. Apart from these, an over-reliance on carrot juice can lead to an addiction or craving while disengagement from the craving can lead to insomnia or anxiety.

Carrots offer many health benefits; however, for the purpose of this article, we have considered how the fruit can be juiced for preventing and fighting cancer. It is important to state here, however, that the use of carrot juice for the treatment of cancer should be done after due consultation with a medical doctor. This is because of the fact that cancer is a complicated disease with several types requiring virtually different methods of treatment.
